If you have a messy iTunes library, TuneUp Media is the program that will fix it. Are you sick of looking at a bunch of Track 01, Track 02, etc.? What about all those songs labeled with “unknown artist?” You can fix all of those automatically now with this powerful plugin for iTunes and Windows Media Player. It does this by digitally listening to your music to identify all your songs. It also adds in missing cover art, which is a nice feature.
You should be aware that TuneUp will not remove your duplicates from iTunes. If you are looking for a program that will do that, check out Remove Duplicates iTunes.
TuneUp is a great program if you are just looking for something to fix song info. They are working on adding a feature to remove duplicates, so check back in early 2011. No promises, but they say it is going to be available soon.
Here is some more information about what TuneUp Media does. It is a great program if you want your iTunes library to be organized with all the correct song information and album artwork. Like I said above, it is not going to delete your duplicates from iTunes, but they are working on offering that feature soon.
One of the strongest features is that it does not need any song information to identify your songs. If you have added a bunch of CDs to your iTunes library, you may have a bunch of songs that are labeled as Track 01, Track 02, Track 03, etc. It is really hard to label these once they are imported this way. Not only is it time consuming to go through and type in all the correct information, but you actually have to go and listen to each song to figure out how to label it.
If you have a small song library, it is not as big of a deal to go through and fix your songs by hand. But when you have been collecting music for years and years and have thousands of songs, it is truly a nightmare to sit down and try to get it all organized. It could take you days and weeks to go through all your songs, and this is no joke. Who really has that kind of time to sit in front of their computer squinting at their songs. It’s a strain on your eyes and your brain!
You can take care of all of that with the push of a button by using TuneUp to fix song info. It will add in all the correct song info and cover art. It lets you review them first if you want to, or you can choose to do it automatically.
TuneUp Media also has some other cool features if you are a music lover. It will alert you to upcoming concerts in your area based on the artists in your music library. This is a great feature for people who are too busy to keep track of their favorite bands touring schedule. You can even buy concert tickets directly from TuneUp.
There is also a feature called Tuniverse, where you can enhance your music listening experience. While you are listening to a song, you will have the option to watch related music videos on youtube, including live versions. It will also present you with artist bios from wikipedia, google news, song and album recommendations from Amazon, and related ebay auctions.
There is also a built in twitter feature that allows you to tweet out what you are listening to and share it with your friends. Your friends will be able to access the same information available in TuneUp. You can also send and discuss the latest stats about your music collection with your friends on Facebook.
