Launched in 2009, TidySongs, now known as Rinse, addresses the need of a growing population of music lovers who have collected thousands of songs over the years only to find their libraries become sloppy and unorganized. Duplicate songs, misspellings, missing information, and missing album art are pretty common when you get your music from multiple sources or upload songs from CDs, and after a while, you end up with a messy library.

For some people, this might be the least of their worries. Who has the time to try to fix their iTunes library when you have so many other important things to tend to? You might be able to live with a messy song library, but I bet you do not really like it that way. If you could clean it all up, I bet you would. Well now you do not have to spend much time at all cleaning up your songs. You can do it at the push of a button!

Here is an overview of all the great things that Rinse can do for you music library:

Remove Duplicate from iTunes

If you have a lot of duplicates, deleting them manually can be a nightmare. Rinse allows you to automate the process so you can clear up space in your iTunes library and make it a lot easier to organize and enjoy your music.

By utilizing an intelligent matching technology to locate duplicate songs, it can find duplicates even if they have different spellings or information. You can also specify how you want it to find your duplicates. For example, you can have it disregard album tags. You also get to choose what you want it to do with your duplicates once it finds them. You can have it flag them for your review, or delete them automatically.

It also helps you decide which is the best quality version of a song so you know which one to keep. And if you are the cautious type, you can run it in simulation mode to do a dry test run in case you are nervous about accidentally deleting a song you would rather keep.

Fix Song Info

Rinse looks up all your songs in its online music database and finds the correct details for each one. You can either choose to fix your song details one at a time so you can review each one and the details before saving them, or you can fix the song details automatically. If you have any misspelled information in your song title, artist, or album name, it will replace it with the correct spelling. It will also fill in missing details such as the genre or release year.

Organizing your genres is a great feature in itself. Many people do not have any information for the genre, or they have so many different genres that it makes it difficult to browse by genre. You can organize and consolidate your genres to just the ones you choose by combining similar genre tags to the ones you use the most.

Finally, it adds missing album art automatically. Itunes and other programs need correct information to find album art, but its intelligent database technology will find the matching album artwork even if you have misspelled song names or missing song details.

One of the best things about Rinse is that you are in complete control of what it does. There are tons of options that allow you pick which songs you fix, which details to update or leave alone, and what criteria to use to decide which songs are duplicates. You can give it a test drive by downloading the free trial now.
