iTunes Genre Organizer

iTunes Genre Organizer
Many people have tons of different genres in their iTunes libraries, maybe even as many different genre tags as they do songs, and that makes browsing by genre virtually pointless.

There is an easy way to organize your genres automatically with a program called Rinse (formerly TidySongs). The iTunes Genre Organizer feature allows you to consolidate and rename genres to keep only the genre tags that you want so you will be able to browse by genre much more easily.

The problem most people have is that they have songs that are labeled with many similar genres. Perhaps you have a song labeled as rock, and another song labeled as classic rock. For your purposes, you may just want to label both of those songs under rock so that you could easily find both of them when you look at all your rock songs. If you want to listen to whatever music you are in the mood for at a given time, it may not be that important to you if it is rock or classic rock.

With the iTunes genre organizer feature in Rinse, you can combine all your rock and classic rock songs into the rock genre. By consolidating similar genres into the ones you use more often, you will have all the songs you need at your fingertips quickly and easily.

The Itunes Genre Organizer Is Just The Tip Of The Iceberg

The genre organizing feature is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the great features Rinse has to organize your music library. Hands down, one of the best features it has is the duplicate remover. You may not even realize how much space is being taken up by duplicate songs. It will remove duplicates from iTunes automatically, saving you tons of time and freeing up valuable space on your hard drive.

Rinse will also go through all your songs and fix up the song information. If you have things mislabeled or spelled incorrectly, it will fix it for you automatically. You can set it to do everything with the push of a button, or you can manually approve all the changes if you prefer to have a little more control over the process.

Another great feature is that it will fill in your missing album artwork. Many people have tons of songs that do not have any album artwork attached, and that can make for a very boring and bland music library. The days of flipping through album art are long gone, but you can still have access to your favorite artist’s album art digitally. There is no reason to miss out on this feature because you can add it automatically with Rinse.

The iTunes genre organizer feature is a very useful feature for organizing your iTunes library, but Rinse has a lot more to offer as well. You can try it out for free to see if you like it, and then it is a small fee to purchase the full version. Trust me when I say that the price is totally worth it for all the time it saves you. If you were to try all the things it does automatically, it could take up weeks of your time.
